It's A Girl

This was such a fun card to make with the Ariana paper packet, gold shimmer trim and smoothie washi tape.

I used the Artiste Cricut Collection to cut out the sentiment It's a Girl. To make it pop out a little more I put half the sentiment on the white background and bottom half on green cardstock coordinating with the paper packet.

Emily's Shelf

I haven't been able to spend much time papercrafting here in the past couple weeks, but I have been working on various crafty projects.  The one today is a shelf I made for my daughter's room.  Hobby Lobby had great lightweight letters I could use to hang by pink and brown polka dot ribbon.  I'm really happy with how this turned out and I plan to put some pretty pink or brown frames on the top of the shelf.

Keeping Schedules Straight

Today I have a fun project I made to help keep my son's schedule straight for different days of the week.  A friend gave me this idea when she did it for her son a couple years ago and I decided to make one to kick off the school year.

I used the Cricut cartridge Designers Calendar for the Monday through Friday labels and then used the Close To My Heart Artbooking cartridge for most of the rest.  There are a couple school layouts that worked perfectly.  I love the spiral paper border and the ruler border.

I then used clear 2 inch mailing tape to cover the front and back, so it would be sturdier and hopefully last a little longer.

Be Yourself!!

I love this stamp set!  It was included in our Hostess Collection from the last catalog and I'm getting around to using it.  Yep... that's right!  If you host a workshop there are stamp collections that only the hostess can purchase.  Please contact me if you are interested in learning more!  There are more fun Hostess Sets in our brand new Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

In this card I'm using the Unicorn Dreams stamp set with the Ariana paper packet where I decided to play with just the blue colors because I've been working on lots of pink here lately.  The unicorn is stamped using Sky ink and the sentiment is stamped using Outdoor Denim ink.  This was another card I found a way to sneak in some of the shimmer trim I absolutely love.

What a Hoot!

Good Morning!  I have a Lollydoodle paper packet card for you today that uses an Owl from the August 2014 Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month.  This is a super cute set that can be used in a variety of ways.  I'm using it for a baby card but it would be perfect for fall themed cards and Halloween as well.  This stamp set can be yours for $5 when you spend $50 on CTMH items on my website in the month of August.

I also used the July 2014 Stamp of the Month set to stamp the sentiment with Hollyhock ink.

Cloud 9

These are 5 fun cards that came out earlier this year in a Cloud 9 kit.  I just love the colors!!  Before making these cards I hadn't worked much with washi tape or shimmer trim.  Now I have to say I'm hooked on both.  There is a new Washi Tape Dispenser that I used for the first time over the weekend.  It is very handy and easy to use for when you know you will need to use the same colors multiple times.

Please go to My Close To My Heart Website to check out some of the items included in the new Annual Inspirations that are part of these cards - Teal Shimmer Trim, Gold Polka Dot Washi Tape and White Cards and Envelopes.

You're the Best!!

Happy Friday!  Today I'm using the You've Got a Friend stamp set that was the Stamp of the Month for May.  I'm a little behind in using this set but hope to use the August one in the next couple days so you can see what an awesome stamp set that one is too!  So... for those of you that love to get the stamp of the month but might not use it right away (like me!).... this card is for you!!  :)

I'm using the Jubilee paper packet which I love for the fall colors.  Starting August 1st Close To My Heart now has a Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  For slightly different variations each time - just put your paper in different spots of the Cuttlebug before sending it through.  I absolutely love it!!

Owl Little Toes Cards

Happy Friday's Eve!  I wanted to keep playing with the owls from the Artbooking CTMH Cricut Collection.  These cards are very similar and use pretty much the same techniques.

In addition to the owl being cut from the Artbooking CTMH Cricut Collection - I also cut the overlay and the sentiment from the Nursery Layout.

The Ivy Lane was my paper packet of choice for these cards along with the Owl stamp set.  The branches were stamped using Chocolate ink and the leaves and "hoot hoot hooray" were stamped using Pear ink.

Owl Pocket Thank You Card

Hello there!  I've been wanting to try out a pocket card and decided to have my first one be a 5 x 7 card for more room.  To create the pocket I cut 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock down to 7 x 10.  I used a scoring tool to help with the fold right down the middle.  Once folded in half - I opened the card base and folded and the top left corner down to the middle of the card being sure to line up the edges.

I'm in love with owls these days and decided to cut one out with the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge available from Close To My Heart.  There are three components to the owl.  The base layer is a chocolate brown with a pink top layer.  The eyes are cut at the same time as the pink top layer and can be added separately.  It's an extra step - but it feels like something is missing without them.

I added some Ivy Lane paper, used the new chevron punch, and added some flamingo dots to add some color and give the card a little something extra.

Air Fryer Roasted Jalepenos

Whenever we are grilling dinner, Mark will throw a few whole jalapenos on the grill to have them with whatever we are having.   On this day ...
