Sausage Pizza Pinwheels

I grabbed pizza dough at the grocery store because pinwheels sounded really good and we hadn't made them for a while.  Pinwheels are awesome because of their versatility and the flavor combinations can be played with in so many ways.

Let's Get Crafty!

Preheat oven to 375

Ingredients:
Pizza dough
Whatever pizza toppings you would like - we just did sausage today
Mozzarella cheese (I like to add a little cheddar too)
Pizza sauce

I normally purchase the Pillsbury dough but today opted for something else because it looked good.

Instructions:
Spread out your dough and layer your toppings. I like to use just a little sauce so the pinwheels don't get soggy.  But hey - You Do You Boo!

Then roll the dough into a log.

I like to use string to cut the pinwheel slices.  Whenever I use a knife, if seems like the dough gets squished and it is hard to see the layers of the pinwheel.  To use string - I decide the thickness of the slice and then position the string under it - then I cross the string like I am knotting it - and then pull it through.  You can actually knot it each time if you want to.

Bake for 25 minutes
I started with 20 minutes and it didn't seem like enough so I did an extra 5 minutes and it was perfect.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day.
